Pawley's Island, S. C. – SIUE golf fired a 298 in Tuesday's final round and finished 13th at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge.
The Cougars finished at 879 for the 54-hole event. St. John's came from behind to win the team title at 841. UConn (846) and Jacksonville State (849) finished second and third respectively.
Parker Bruening, playing as an individual, turned in his first career top-15 finish. He scored his best 54-hole finish with a 213 (71-71-71) to finish tied for 15th.
Brady Kaufmann tied for 44th at 219 (+3). Alex Eickhoff finished at 220 (+4) to tie for 49th. Preston Bily finished tied for 59th at 222. Will Simpson finished at 223 to tie for 64th. Brent Reintjes tied for 78th at 228.
Jacksonville State's Ryley Heath (-13) claimed Individual Medalist honors. Teammate Ben Shed (-11) was runner-up.
SIUE has just one regular season event remaining. They'll take part in the Carpenter/Chaney Classic Match Play event hosted by UT Martin and Morehead State Mon., April 14. The Cougars won the event last year.
