USAF, Colo. – SIUE golf finished its first tournament of the year Sunday, completing play at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational.
The Cougars shot 300 Sunday and totaled 891 to finish in 17th of 24 competing teams. Colorado State led the tournament wire to wire to earn the team win at 834. Colorado was second at 859. San Jose State and New Mexico State tied for third at 861.
Colorado State's Connor Jones finished 13-under and bested teammate David Bryant (-12) for Individual Medalist honors.
Anthon Ruthey led SIUE at 216 to tie for 24th. Presley Mackelburg tied for 39th at 221. Alex Eickhoff finished his first SIUE tournament in 79th with a 227. Freshman Brady Kaufmann tied for 83rd with a 228 in his first collegiate event. TJ Baker tied 103rd at 233.
The Cougars will travel to Jackson, Tennessee for UT Martin's Grover Page Classic Sept. 19-20.
