Cougars Wrap Up Play at Air Force

Final Results

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – SIUE golf finished its first tournament of the season, wrapping up play at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational hosted by Air Force.

The Cougars finished 17th of 18 competing teams with a 912. Colorado came from behind to win the team title at 10-under-par 854. Northern Colorado was five strokes back in second place. UC Davis was third at 861.

Presley Mackelburg paced the Cougars. He shot a third-round 74 and finished tied for 52nd with a 223. Brooks Jungbluth tied for 65th at 227. Anthony Ruthey finished with a 229 to tie for 79th. Albert Nilsson turned in a 235 to tie for 89th. Tanner Collins finished 99th with a 243.

Southern Utah's Jake Vincent won the individual title in playoff after tying with Jack Castiglia or Northern Colorado at 209 (-8).

SIUE returns to the course Saturday to begin play in the EKU Intercollegiate sponsored by Raising Cane's.
