Men's Golf Finishes Play at Colorado

Final Results

ERIE, Colo. – SIUE golf improved upon its second-round score, carding a 298 in the third round, but dropped in the standings Tuesday, finishing 12th at Colorado's Mark Simpson Invitational.

Colorado won the event, leading wire to wire. The Buffaloes finished at 829 (-35). Grand Canyon took second at 25-under. Wyoming was third at 844 (-20).

Albert Nilsson led the Cougars with a 217 (+1). He finished in a tie for 37th. Brooks Jungbluth was two strokes back (219) to tie for 45th. Parker McEachern, who fired a career-low 65 in the first round, tied for 50th at 221. SIUE's individual, Luke Ludwig, finished 57th at 224. Presley Mackelburg (225) tied for 58th and Tanner Collins (231) finished in 67th place.

Grand Canyon's Michael Salazar won a playoff for the medalist trophy, thanks to a birdie on the first hole. He shared medalist honors with Jack Dyer of CSU Fullerton and Colorado's Daniel O'Loughlin.

SIUE concludes the fall portion of its schedule at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate Oct. 14-15.
