DMR School Record Set at Marshall Invite

HUNTINGTON, Wv. – The SIUE track and field teams wrapped up day one of the Marshall Invite Friday. The Cougars came away with multiple personal records and the distance medley relay school record.

SIUE's men's DMR (Matt O'Connor, Dalton Oakes, Kevin Campbell and Landon Skelly) set the school record (10:10.13) Friday by over eight seconds. Their individual times were all PR equivalent as well.

Nick Matthews (60-07.25) and John Barnes (57-07.75) placed first and second respectively in the men's weight throw. DeVonte Tincher finished second while hitting a PR (23-4.5) in the long jump.

Lizzie Virgl set a PR in the women's weight throw (57-09.50) and Allie Sweatt finished fourth in the women's 5000 (18:04.01).

The meet will continue Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. CT at the Cline Indoor Athletic Facility in Huntington, West Virginia.
