EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE track and field continues the outdoor portion of its schedule at SIUE's Ralph Korte Stadium during the Cougar Classic on Saturday, Apr. 12. Field events are set to start at 10 a.m. with the men's and women's hammer throw followed by track events at noon.
The Cougars are celebrating 13 graduating student-athletes through out the course of the day.
Last Time Out:
The Cougars competed at the WashU Distance Carnival Mar. 27-28, the SLU Speed/Power Festival Mar.28 and the Billiken Invitational Mar. 29.
Emilee Franklin ran her first 5k on the track at the WashU Distance Carnival where she claimed first in her head at 19:14.71.
During the SLU Speed/Power Festival
Vashanti Reynolds placed first in the women's 100 hurdles at 14.08 and
Mia Jackson followed in second at 14.17 good for fifth in the programs all-time performances.
Reynolds had another first place finish in the women's 100 hurdles at the Billiken Invite. She crossed the finish line at 14.17.
Also competing at the Billiken Invite was
Kaylee Allen who placed first in the women's 400m at 57.51.
Mia Loafman claimed first in the women's 3000m steeple at 11:51.43.
Two throwers claimed first at this invite too.
Gabby Yaccino finished first in the women's hammer throw at 47.93m (157-03), and
Grant Milbrath also placed first in the men's shot put at 17.22m (56-6).
