EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE softball entertains Ohio Valley Conference rival Eastern Illinois today at Cougar Field. The doubleheader starts at 2 p.m.

SIUE enters the contest with a 13-17 record and a 5-3 mark in the OVC. Eastern Illinois leads the OVC with a 6-0 mark in league play and is 19-5 overall.

Eastern Illinois is coming off a pair of season-opening sweeps. The Panthers swept Murray State and Tennessee State.

SIUE is expected to open with the OVC Pitcher of the Week Erika Taylor. The senior right-hander won three games last week and holds a 10-8 record.

The game also can be heard locally on WSIE FM 88.7.
