SIUE

Mason Cotterel is in his third year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at SIUE. Currently in his second season with men's basketball, Cotterel also assists with men's golf and track and field.

He previously worked with softball for the 2024 season and also covered wrestling and outdoor track and field during the 2022-23 school year.

Cotterel came to SIUE after spending time at Fontbonne in St. Louis. At Fontbonne, He was responsible for the evaluation of athletic injuries, designing and implementing rehabilitation programs and acute injury management. He worked with women’s volleyball, STUNT, dance, cheer, wrestling, and softball.

Cotterel is no stranger of Edwardsville, with SIUE being one of his clinical experiences as a graduate student at Saint Louis during the 2021-22 school year. 

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a minor in interprofessional healthcare education in May of 2021. He earned his master's in Athletic Training from Saint Louis in May 2022.
