Christian Salecich

Christian Salecich begins his first season on Coach LennoxForrester’s staff in 2014-15 following a playing career whichincluded one season with the Cougars. Salecich will serve as theteam’s graduate assistant manager. He will be involved in allfacets of the program, including team travel, practice planning,and game preparation.

Salecich, a native of Gold Coast, Australia, finished hisplaying career with the Cougars in 2013-14 following stints atMissouri Southern State and Saint Louis.

As a player:

2013-14: Appeared in all 31 games, making 11 starts in his onlyseason in a Cougars uniform...Was second on the team with 70assists (2.25 per game)...Dished out a career-high nine assists11/26 at Oregon State...Averaged 6.8 points and 2.1 rebounds pergame...Scored a career-high 16 points 12/2 vs. Texas-PanAmerican...Drained a career-high four three-pointers vs. SoutheastMissouri 2/6...Knocked down three three-pointers 1/18 vs. MurrayState and again 2/8 vs. UT Martin.

Prior to SIUE: Appeared in 30 games including making 21 startsfor Missouri Southern State during 2011-2012 season...Averaged 6.3points per game...Shot 38 percent (61-161) from the field, 33percent (34-102) from 3-point range, and 67 percent (34-51) at thefoul line... Finished second on the team with 124 assists (4.1apg)...Added 28 steals...Lions’ were 22-8 and ranked as highas No. 1 during the season...Played two seasons at Division I SaintLouis where as he appeared in all 36 games and started 31 times asa freshman...Averaged 6.4 ppg and 2.3 rpg with 64 assists and 23steals...Played in 31 games, starting four as a sophomore, whileaveraging 2.3 points per game and 1.1 rebounds.

During his prep days in Australia, Salecich starred at guard atthe Australian Institute of Sport, in Canberra, Australia. He was amember of the 2009 Australia U-19 National team at the FIBA WorldU-19 Championships in New Zealand.
