PEORIA, Ill. – Despite a quick start Tuesday, SIUE softball dropped a 9-4 nonconference contest at Bradley.
SIUE fell to 20-16 while Bradley improved to 18-21. The Cougars are now idle until this weekend when they return to Cougar Field for a three-game series against Tennessee State. The Ohio Valley Conference series begins with a Saturday doubleheader at noon and completes with a noon single game Sunday.
The Cougars took advantage of two Bradley errors in the first inning as Emma Henderson and Juztyne Torres scored.
Bradley put together a pair of four-run innings in the third and the fifth to take the lead.
Anna Henderson provided a two-run double in the fifth inning, scoring Torres and Kaylynn Salyars.
Hannah Organ earned the victory for Bradley in a four-inning effort. McKayla Anderson took the loss for the Cougars.
