EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE volleyball was defeated 3-2 by Lindenwood in the second game of their weekend series. Set scores were (25-18,25-16,25-21,25-23, 15-13). The Cougars won the first and fourth sets, putting up a fight in the fifth set.
As a team, the Cougars had 57 attacks out of 183 total attempts, at a .219 hitting percentage. There were 50 set assists with only one error, and four service aces. The Cougars tallied six solo blocks and 16 block assists, along with 78 digs.
Inside the Numbers:
- Senior Sydney Hummert achieved a new single-game high of 18 kills, hitting at .222; she also recorded 19 digs.
- Kyndia Smith followed Hummert with 13 kills out of 32 attempts, hitting at .344.
- Alyse Drifka took the charge having 25 set assists and 17 digs.
- Defensively Olivia Hogan played as Libero recording 13 digs
- Sophie Robinson came in during the Third and fourth sets contributing four kills off the bat.
Up next, the Cougars head to Nashville to take on Tennessee State October 11-12. First serves is set for 6:00 p.m.
