LAST TIME OUT: KK Rodriguez led the Cougars with 17 points, her fourth consecutive game in double-figures, but it came as SIUE dropped a 68-65 decision at Eastern Michigan Saturday. The Cougars wrapped the game 39 percent (25-65) from the field and 42 percent (11-26) from three-point land. EMU shot 48 percent (28-58) overall and were 8-10 from the stripe. SIUE was perfect from the line on just four free throw opportunities. Halle Smith finished in double-figures for the second time this season with 10 points. Molly Sheehan led SIUE with a career-high six boards.
SERIES HISTORY: Monday marks the second meeting between the Cougars and Flyers dating back to 1984. In the lone meeting, Dayton downed the Cougars on Jan. 28, 1984, 98-54 in Dayton, Ohio.
SHOOTERS SHOOT: SIUE ranks second in the OVC averaging 8.0 three-pointers made per game. Rodriguez (11, 1st), Lowis (9, t-3rd), and Macy Silvey (9, t-3rd) rank in the top three of the league in three's made. The Cougars rank third in scoring offense at 74.6 points per game.
SHARING IS CARING: The Cougars rank third in the OVC averaging 15.5 assists per contest. Rodriguez's 19 assists rank third in the league.

DID IT AGAIN: Graduate guard Rodriguez paced the Cougars' scoring with 31 points at Illinois State. Her seven three pointers in the contest are tied for second in program history and are tied for the fourth most in the nation this season. At Eastern Michigan, her 17 points, 15 of which came in the second half, marked her fourth consecutive game in double-figures. The guard's 100 total points through the first five games rank eighth in the NCAA.
AVA SCORER: Ava Stoller ranks second on the Cougars and 16th in the OVC averaging 10.2 points per game. The guard has finished in double-figures in three out of five contests. Stoller joins SIUE this season from St. Petersburg HS where she led the Green Devils' scoring efforts with 25.5 points and 4.4 rebounds as a senior.
SILVEY LINING: Silvey ranks third on the Cougars averaging 9.8 points per game. The sophomore has finished in double-figures in three of her last four outings. Her She concluded last season with 173 points, 44 rebounds, 24 assists, and 20 steals.
50TH SEASON OF WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The 2023-24 season marks the 50th season of women's basketball at SIUE. The Cougars own an all-time record of 685-641 since the program began in 1974.
