• SIUE welcomes three new members to the Ohio Valley Conference this season - Lindenwood, Little Rock and Southern Indiana. The Cougars will get to see Little Rock and Southern Indiana at Korte Stadium.

Matea Diekema was named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week after her performance in the Cougars' 2-0 win at Southeast Missouri.

Taylor Spiller earned OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honors with the shutout at Southeast Missouri. Spiller shared the honor with Lindenwood's Sam Blazek.
• The first Division I women's soccer RPI ratings were released earlier this week. SIUE was ranked the top team in the OVC at No. 184 overall. Lindenwood is ranked No. 336.

Savannah DeFini became the first SIUE player this season with more than one goal scored as she scored the insurance goal at SEMO. DeFini nearly had her second goal just seconds before when she made a shot that deflected off SEMO's goalkeeper and right to Diekema who would scored the game winner.
