GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY
The 2017-18 season marks the 50th season of SIUE men's basketball. The men's basketball program began with the 1967-68 season, the first of three under the late Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Harry Gallatin.
 
THIRD SEASON 
SIUE Head Coach Jon Harris is in his third season at the helm of the Cougars. The native of Edwardsville, Illinois, is 16-55 overall. 
 
TONIGHT
SIUE continues Ohio Valley Conference play and a five-game road trip this week. The Cougars have a 30-68 record in six previous seasons in the league.  
 
LAST TIME
Murray State connected on 56 percent of its shots Saturday on its way to an 87-63 win over SIUE in Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball at the CFSB Center. The Racers were 28-50 from the field and went 10-19 (52.6 percent) from three-point range in improving to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the OVC. The Racers scored 30 points in the paint, including 18 in the second half. The Cougars, went 20-58 (34.5 percent) from the field and collected just nine field goals in the second half. SIUE matched Murray State with five first-half three-pointers and trailed 43-34 at halftime. Brandon Jackson tied his career high with 12 points. 
 
SERIES STUFF
EKU leads the all-time series 5-4. The two teams have traded wins over the last six years. EKU won a 78-61 contest last year in Richmond, Kentucky.
