GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY
The 2017-18 season marks the 50th season of SIUE men's basketball. The men's basketball program began with the 1967-68 season, the first of three under the late Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer
Harry Gallatin.
THIRD SEASON
SIUE Head Coach
Jon Harris is in his third season at the helm of the Cougars. The native of Edwardsville, Illinois, is 19-58 overall.
TONIGHT
SIUE returns to the road, where it is 4-7 overall this year and 2-2 in the
Ohio Valley Conference. The Cougars have won two straight road games.
LAST TIME
SIUE came up one shot shy and one point short in its narrow loss to UT Martin on Saturday. The Skyhawks fended off the Cougars 70-69.
Daniel Kinchen's shot just before the buzzer wouldn't go in and the Skyhawks escaped win their win.
SIUE led 45-42 in a free-wheeling first half that featured 31 field goals, 14 of them from 3-point range. The Cougars and Skyhawks combined for 31-for-55 shooting overall. SIUE owned its largest lead at 37-29 with 4:50 remaining in the half.
Jalen Henry scored a team-high 21 points and collected five rebounds and four assists. McFarland punched in 18 points, 15 on five first-half 3-pointers.
SERIES STUFF
The Tigers own a 7-2 edge in the all-time series and are 4-0 against SIUE in Nashville. The Cougars won the first meeting this year, two weeks ago in Edwardsville. This season marks the first time the two have faced each other twice in a season.
