Ohio Valley Conference schedule this week. Including Thursday's loss, the Cougars have a 30-67 record in six previous seasons in the league.
LAST TIME
Austin Peay used a 28-9 run to end the first half to pull away from SIUE and cruise to a 78-58 win Thursday in the
Ohio Valley Conference opener for both teams. Despite playing without starters
Jalen Henry and
David McFarland, SIUE got off to a hot start, hitting its first four shots of the game to lead 8-3. After a three-pointer from
Daniel Kinchen with 9:39 left in the half, the Cougars' lead was 17-14. From there Austin Peay, went on its run. Henry missed the contest with an ankle injury. Travel issues kept McFarland from returning from Christmas break on time. The Governors had 13 offensive rebounds in the first half and 17 for the game, which led to 22 second chance points.
