EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Jenny Kates scored twice in the final seven minutes of the game Friday as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer boasted a 3-1 victory over Southern Indiana.
         Kates broke up a 1-1 tie at 83:12 with her fourth goal of the year on an assist by Elizabeth Valenti. Just a little more than two minutes later, Elizabeth Ball fired off a corner kick and connected with Kates to extend the lead.
         SIUE improved to 6-4-2 overall and 4-3-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Southern Indiana dropped to 4-8 and 2-6 in the GLVC.
         SIUE's Correen Roark opened the game's scoring at 39:36 with an assist from Ball.
         Katie Teagarden put Southern Indiana on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal at 39:36.
         Once again, SIUE's offense outshot an opponent. This time, the Cougars outshot Southern Indiana 16-5.
         SIUE continues its road trip Sunday in Owensboro, Ky. The Cougars face Kentucky Wesleyan in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
