Rockhurst Provides Wake-Up Call

         EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - No. 11 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's basketball shot 34 percent from the field and suffered its biggest loss of the season with a 71-49 homecourt defeat to Rockhurst.
         The Hawks provided a wake-up call by defeating the Cougars, now 21-5 and 14-4 overall. Rockhurst improved to 12-14 and 8-10 in the GLVC, keeping its hopes for a GLVC Tournament bid alive.
         SIUE must rebound to face Drury on Saturday at 3 p.m. in a game which may determine the top seed in the GLVC West Division. The Cougars must defeat Drury to gain the No. 1 seed in the West Division. The top three teams in both the West and East Divisions along with the teams with the next two best records advance to next week's GLVC Tournament at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind.
         On Thursday, Anthony Jones was the lone player in double figures for SIUE with 11 points.
         Rockhurst finished with five players in double figures led by Kevin Martin with 17 points. John Torson powered the Hawks with 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks.
