         WARRENSBURG, MO. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville wrestling team had three wrestlers place at the 12th Annual Roger Denker Open. No team scores were recorded at the event.
         Sophomore John Ficht finished in fourth place at 165 pounds. Ficht lost his first match before winning three straight matches then falling in the third place match 11-7 to Blake Allen from the University of Oklahoma. Ficht is 12-11 on the season.
         Senior Brandon Lorek came in at fifth place at 197 pounds. Lorek finished the open with 3-2 record. After winning his first two matches Lorek would lose the next two before defeating Ben Laux from McKendree 3-1 in the 5th place match. Lorek improves to 11-13 on they year.
         Eric Scholle finshed at sixth place at 174 pounds going 2-3 in the meet. Scholle won his first two matches then fell in his final three contests.
         SIUE will be back on the road next week as they travel to Whitewater, Wis., for the UW-Eau Claire/UW-Whitewater open on Saturday at 3 p.m.
