SIUE Struggles On Offense, Loses 65-49

         (EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.) The Cougars struggled offensively this evening as they fell to Lewis 65-49 in Romeoville, Ill.
         SIUE, 6-17 overall and 3-14 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, managed only 11 points in the first half while shooting 17.9 percent (5-28) from the field. The Cougars recorded 38 points in the second half but ended the game shooting just 28 percent (17-59). Lewis improves to 10-13 overall and 8-9 in the conference.
         Andrew Gajewski led the team with 12 points while the Cougars leading scorer, Marty Perry, was held to an 0 for 10 evening. Garrett Thomas was the only other Cougar to finish in double figures with 11 points. Brandon Hilton tied a career-best, scoring eight points in 28 minutes off the bench. Hilton also led the team with a career-high eight rebounds.
         Jonah Batambuze led the Flyers with 18 points while Londen Donlow finished with 11 points. Austin Real led the team on the boards, grabbing 12.
         SIUE returns to action on Saturday when the team travels to Wisconsin-Parkside for a 3 p.m. contest.
